The Adventure Cycling Young Adult Bike Travel Scholarship program was developed at the request of Adventure Cycling members as a way to sponsor young people on tour and share the experience of bike travel.
The goal of the scholarship is to provide young adults, ages 18-25, with access to bicycle travel through participation in one of our Educational Courses. Upon completion of the course, scholarship recipients will perform outreach activities for their communities and peers to promote the activity of bicycle touring.
For the 2015 program, Adventure Cycling Association is seeking candidates who will choose to participate in either the Leadership Training Course (LTR) or Introduction to Road Touring (IRT). Each scholarship covers transportation to attend one of the courses, the cost of the course (which includes meals and accomodations), as well as a new touring bicycle equipped with bike travel gear, such as panniers. Eligible candidates will be ages 18-25 and have an interest in bicycle travel and touring.
