Share with us where you feel closest to nature and you could be in with a chance of winning one of 3 spots on a Contiki Cares conservation trip to Costa Rica, traveling with Céline Cousteau and working with The Sea Turtle Conservancy.
The world’s leading youth travel company, Contiki Vacations, and The Matador Network, the largest independent travel publisher online, are searching for three of the world’s up-and-coming storytellers committed to making a difference in helping protect our planet. Entrants will have to demonstrate their passion, creativity, and skills in photography, film or travel journalism on the competition page hosted at contikistorytellers.tumblr.com to secure a spot on the trip.
The three lucky winners will travel on Contiki’s Costa Rica Unplugged trip with celebrated documentary filmmaker, adventurer and storyteller Céline Cousteau during Earth Month (April 2014). The winners will receive a scholarship to the MatadorU online journalism program and learn firsthand about ocean conservation from Céline, an activist and Contiki ambassador. In addition, together with Céline and a respected storyteller from The Matador Network, the winners will visit Contiki Cares’ latest partnership in Costa Rica – the Sea Turtle Conservancy Foundation – and discover how their work is instrumental in saving sea turtles from extinction.

The competition closes Friday, February 28, 2014. The winners will be selected by a panel of judges from Contiki, Matador Network and Céline Cousteau.

Having explored the amazing country that is Costa Rica – from the jungles and rainforests, to the beaches, oceans and working with the Sea Turtle Conservancy – it will be a trip that’s truly about discovery. Through their incredible travel experience and newfound journalism skills, the winners will be in good stead to become correspondents for the Matador Network, helping spread the word about ocean conservation through authentic travel storytelling
