Remote Year II: Travel the World While Working Remotely

Launches February 1, 2016

Remote Year will go to 12 different locations, one month each. There will be 3 legs of the trip:

South America

1) Montevideo, Uruguay
2) Buenos Aires, Argentina
3) La Paz, Bolivia
4) Cusco, Peru

Europe

5) Istanbul, Turkey
6) Prague, Czech Republic
7) Belgrade, Serbia
8) Cavtat, Croatia

Asia

9) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
10) Koh Phangan, Thailand
11) Phnom Penh, Cambodia
12) Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Program Cost

There will be a $2,000 fee on the 1st of every month of Remote Year in addition to a $3,000 down payment to reserve your spot.

What’s Included

  • All travel between destinations
  • All accommodations during the entire year with your own room (hotels, apartments, dorms, bungalows – city-dependent)
  • Common workspace with internet that is centrally located + open 24/7 in each city
  • Activities and events, such as community impact days, speakers, tours + other trips

Remote Work

All participants will need their own remote jobs once the program begins. Remote Year is not a job provider. If you don’t already have a remote job, we highly recommend you start by working with your current employer to find a way to keep your current job and transition to remote, or you can get a new job that is remote for the program.

FAQ

Do I need to come for the whole year?

Yes – we are looking for participants who are excited about the experience of traveling with other smart and interesting people for the full year.

Will there be breaks in the program to go on vacations or visit family?

Participants can go on vacation whenever they please, and rejoin the group wherever we are at the time.

Do I have to be from the United States?

No – Remote Year aims to have a diverse set of participants!

Do I have to speak English?

You do not need to be fluent in English to join the program, however, you must have basic English conversational skills in order to interact with your fellow remotes.
