Crank up the Björk: Iceland becomes the latest country to offer a new long-term visa to digital-nomad remote workers around the world.
Here’s the fine print:
- Citizens of US + Canada are eligible, as they do not require a visa to enter Iceland. All others, check for your country’s eligibility here.
- Purpose of stay must be to work remotely from Iceland for a foreign company. Remote worker must be permanently employed and meet other health requirements for the duration.
- Applicant can show a monthly income of 1,000,000 ISK (<$8,000 US) or 1,300,000 ISK (about $11,000 US) if applying for accompanying spouse, cohabiting partner and/or children under 18. (A bit steep? What do you think, nomads? Let us know in the comments below.)
- Processing fee is 7,800 ISK (around $60 US) for remote workers and accompanying family.
