August 25, 2015 marks the 99th anniversary of the National Park Service’s founding. Celebrate by visiting a US national park for free (and help look ahead to the 100th anniversary in 2016).
The National Park Service will celebrate its 99th anniversary by waiving the entrance fee on this day at all 408 of parks, monuments and historical sites, a prelude to the agency’s centennial celebration in 2016.
Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees + transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession + fees collected by third parties not included, unless stated otherwise.
